MPTS 2024 Round Up

We had a blast at the The Media Production & Technology Show last week!

I love virtual production and think it can be a great solution when matched with an idea that works well in VP. Iβve enjoyed exploring smaller scale setups for years using simple screens as plates for product shoots - even with a TV as the background screen.
When combining background plate, camera angle, lighting, and subjectβ¦in a π¨π’ππ‘π‘ ππ€π€π©π₯π§ππ£π©, virtual production becomes even more cost-effective too. This setup below with a Star Wars Snowspeeder was fun. The model, placed on a motion control turntable was matched to a 3D environment in Unreal Engine. The movement data and camera angles were fed into the scene, allowing a tiny LED screen (roughly 2x1m) to cover 360Β° of model movement. This setup used GODOX KNOWLED Pixel panels and tubes to update lighting in real-time, matching the 3D environment's content. While it may be a bit too small for some projects adding a slighting bigger screen means that table top product shoots and even close ups of people can access the flexibility of VP on a smaller scale. Exactly what G6Moco would normally do.
Glad Dila and Ella were happy to let me nerd out and talk their heads off about all the shiny things!
At Prose on Pixels, tomorrow weβre going to be taking our Havas London Village through a virtual production inspiration session with views from all angles; creative, producer, LED volume and director.
Turns out itβs a VP week at Prose on Pixels.
